Jean-Michel Billaut reports rumors that one of the large French retailers (our local Walmarts) intends to launch a fiber offer in a way not entirely dissimilar to what Darty did with xDSL ie. white branded service over an existing operator's network (you could call it Fixed VNO, I guess.) He also says that the French regulator, ARCEP has hired or nominated an Ultra High Bandwidth Project Manager within its teams. I'm surprised they didn't already have one.
Apparently there was an interview of ARCEP's director in Yesterday's Les Echos as well, but I haven't laid my hands on it yet. I'll let you know if there's anything interesting there once I have.
