On Fastweb and Swisscom

As many of you know, Milan based Fastweb has recently been purchased by Swisswom. I found a very interesting article by Xavier Studer on Télécoms: la guerre des réseaux, one of the blogs maintained by journalists of the TSR (the National Swiss Television). The article is in French, but it hints at the reasons which pushed Swisscom to buy out the Italian fiber pioneer. In particular, Bluewin TV, Swisscom's IP TV offer, seems to be struggling and Fastweb has a lot of prior experience in that respect. It seems that Swisscom could kickstart its services by applying tried and tested Italian recipes. It's a good read if you speak French!
