This has been on my radar for a couple of weeks, with snippets of information (if that) here and there, and I was waiting to find out more to post about it. Since no more seems forthcoming, I decided to revert the logic and write about what little I have in the hope that readers will contribute more!
So, the "news" is that Indian operator MTNL has announced an FTTH roll-out in New Dehli. There's a source here, and there have been others, equally streamlined. I'd really like to find out more about this, like:
- is this a targeted roll-out to affluent areas/gated communitites (in which case it's news, but not all that big) or is it an actually full-scale roll-out?
- what's the service offering (in a little more detail) and associated prices?
- is this a copper overlay or a new network providing service where no wireline service existed previously?
Any help (email or comments) welcome!
