On May 6th and 7th, 2009 I will be attending the FTTH Forum 2009 in Barcelona, Spain. I'm really looking forward to the event, and not just because Barcelona in May is bound to be sunny and pleasant. Some of the speakers are people you don't often get a chance to hear:
- Karel Helsen is the new President of the FTTH Council, and it'll be interesting to hear where he intends to take the organisation
- Jonas Birgersson is the head of Labs 2 and Via Europa and one of the most interesting fiber entrepreneurs I know. I haven't spoken to him in a while, so I look forward to his session
- Josep Ramon Ferrer-Escoda is the General Director of Telecommunication Networks and Infrastructures for the Government of Catalonia. There have been rumours (and more) of fiber to the home projects in Catalonia for a while now, so I hope we will have the low down on what's really going on.
- The Key Legislative and Regulatory Issues Affecting Fiber Projects panel on day 2 looks really good, and I'm not saying that because I'm the one moderating it.
I myself will be there to talk about the revenue opportunity, expanding on what I already presented in Copenhagen. Feel free to check out the full program.
The excellent news is that the organisers have contacted me and told me that they would offer a hugely discounted rate to Fiberevolution readers. The normal rate for attendees is 890€. The rate for Fiberevolution readers is 300€!
In order to benefit from this considerable discount, when you register, all you need to do is enter the VIP code FT09BF. Spread the word around!
