First of all, apologies for the radio silence these last few days and many thanks to those of you who emailed to wish me good luck (though the idea of needing luck for surgery is somehow worrying to me...) or enquire about my post-operation health.
I am now back home, I have an aircast on my left ankle and will retain it for the next six weeks until the artificial bone sculpture that has been cleverly inserted in my ankle area is solid enough to retain my adventurous tendon from wandering around, hopefully for good.
So far, I've played it safe and have done little but rest and watch Youtube videos (and purchase my first proper digital music on the newly opened French Amazon mp3 store). I can kind of walk - though for now it's more of a hobble - but that should hopefully improve in the coming days. I intend to catch up on my reading as well, with two important pieces of reading, one about the german market and one about the UK market (guess which?)
Incidentally, my relative lack of mobility will stop me from attending what would have otherwise promised to be a really cool event, namely the Manchester Roadshow and Euro Conference. In anticipation for this though, I have recorded an interview with the conference organisers last week, so you should see my hairy mug there nonetheless. The event will be webcast as well, so I might even experience this strange thing of watching myself speak in a pre-recorded video over a video webcast. Talk about Mise en Abyme...
Anyway, expect a gradual return to life of the blog as I find new and interesting things to share with you. Hopefully I will!
